Iniesta signs until 2015

Andres Iniesta has today signed a new, improved contract with FC Barcelona. The contract lasts until 2015, and his buyout clause is 200 million euro.

After an amazing last season, the club decided to reward Andres with a new contract. His previous contract lasted until 2014, with the buyout clause being 150 million euro. However, the club decided to increase those numbers — and keep him safe from potential buyers.

Iniesta was very happy regarding this. “I want to end my career in Barcelona. This is the club which treats me amazingly, and I love being here.” He also thanked Joan Laporta and Txiki Bergiristain for always being there for him and trusting in him.

Iniesta gets green light

Andres Iniesta has finally gotten the green light from the Barcelona medical staff. That means that he has fully recovered from the injury and which caused him to be out for about three months.

He will be able to take part in the coming game FC Barcelona will play against Getafe on Saturday. He probably won’t play the whole game, as Guardiola will save him for the clash against FC Inter in the Champions League.

Barcelona’s medical staff has announced that Iniesta will be able to take part in the game against Getafe (probably one half time or less), and then he will be able to play the whole game against Inter in the Champions League.

Iniesta seemed very happy about that: “I am very happy. I was waiting for the green light, and now I got it.” Journalists asked him about his contract renewal, which is supposed to tie him to the club until 2016, and he responded: “I am not worried about that at all. I know that I will stay my whole career here in Barcelona, and we can sign the contract anytime.”

Barcelona’s technical secretary Txiki Bergiristan has met with Andres Iniesta’s agent Ramon Sostres in order to discuss the outlines of the new contract for this amazing footballer. Barcelona wants to keep the player as long as possible, and the player wants to continue with the club that he loves.

Barcelona has offered to Iniesta a significant pay-rise. He would be moved to the third basket, earning a similar salary as Xavi Hernandez. Apart from that, the duration of his contract would be extended until 2015.

An injury that Andres picked up in the final of the Champions League caused some problems, and that’s why he didn’t play with Spain in the Confederations Cup. He was doing daily excersizes, and yesterday the main doctor of FC Barcelona, dr. Ricard Pruna, has examined the state of the injury and gave Andres the green light to go to vacation. That means that he has fully recovered from the injury.

“Honestly, I feel fantastic. I am very happy that this turned out well, and now I can go on vacation.” said Iniesta. He will have to report to Pep Guardiola on July 27th.

Iniesta will end his career in Barca

Andres Iniesta is currently recovering from an injury he picked up during the end of the season. He played injured in the final of Champions League, and now needs to take time to fully recover. He will miss the Confederations Cup, and will join FC Barcelona when the pre-season starts. He will probably miss the visit to London, but will travel with his teammates to USA, where Barca will tour the west coast.

Journalists from Spain cought him and asked him a couple of questions about his career. “My biggest dream would be to end my career in Barcelona.” That’s how Andres answered when journalists asked him would he like to leave Barca. “I have the will to stay until the end. Of course, it also depends on if the club wants me.” Let us just say that Andres is in his mid twenties, and that this is just the beggining on a great, amazing player who will impress the world many times.

Barcelona won the Champions League

Last night was a magnficent night — the finals of the Champions League, played in Rome on the Olympico stadium. The show before the game was spectacular, but the game was even more so. In an amazing display, Barcelona, with Andres Iniesta as part of the starting squad (he successfully recovered from the injury), beat Manchester United 2-0.

Andres Iniesta played a great match, and together with Xavi Hernandez, controlled the midfield. The first goal was scored by Eto’o, and guess who passed the ball to him? It was Iniesta, of course. The “midfielder king”, as they call him, played great through the whole game, showed us some great moves. Pep Guardiola substituted him just before the end of the game in order to prevent any potential injuries.

All in all, Barcelona won the treble this year (La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League), and Andres Iniesta is a part of that success. Barca is more than a club, definitely.

Andres will play in the final in Rome

Fans of FC Barcelona have been in fear after Andres Iniesta got substituted in the game against Villareal on Sunday. It seemed that he got injured, and some newspapers said that he will not be able to recover in time for the final in Rome.

However, Iniesta underwent an exam this morning at the clinic. The MRI showed that he has a 2cm tear in his muscle, BUT he WILL BE ABLE to play in the finals of the Champions League against Manchester United. This was confirmed by the doctors, and Andres himself said: “I will play in Rome, no matter what.”

Iniesta takes Barcelona to the finals

Wednesday night was the happiest night in Andres’ life. He scored in the 93rd minute a 1-1 equalizer against Chelsea and thus took Barcelona to the finals. The result in the first game was 0-0, so the 1-1 was perfect for Barcelona.

The goal was beautiful. After a pass from Lionel Messi, Andres took a great shot and scored an amazing goal in the right upper corner of the goal.

“This goal was scored by the whole team,” said Andres in an interview. “I was extremely happy that I could help my team to go to the finals in Rome. We’ll try our best to win there too.”

Iniesta going to Manchester City?

British media have reported that Manchester City FC, in order to improve their reputation around the world, will try to sign Andres Iniesta from FC Barcelona. Although both Barcelona officials and Iniesta have said numerous times that he will not leave Barca and that he would like to retire there, Manchester City representatives think that a bid of 40 million euro would change their minds.

They think that Iniesta would perfectly fit into their midfielder, and along with Robinho, and a couple of other signings they plan on doing over the summer, they think they will have a great squad for next season.

We’ll see what happens.
